BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) launched its new Venture and Impact platform, consolidating Ecological Transition and Impact, Fintech, and the Solar Impulse Venture Fund under one entity. The platform starts with €800 million ($879 million) assets under management.

Yann Lagalaye, Head of Ecological Transition & Impact, leads the new platform, with Marinus Oosterbeek and Vincent Baillin promoted to Managing Directors at Opera Tech Ventures (OTV).
Lagalaye highlighted: “I would like to congratulate Marinus and Vincent on their appointment as Managing Directors. This promotion demonstrates the trust of BNP Paribas Group in their expertise and their ability to accelerate the development of the fund, which plays a key role in the Group’s digital transformation strategy.”

Driving innovation:
OTV, integral to BNPP AM’s Private Assets division, focuses on transformative fintech investments, taking minority stakes (€3-€15 million) across Series A to C startups primarily in Europe and North America.
- Since launching in 2018, OTV has backed 17 startups and successfully exited three.
- Current investments include innovative fintech companies such as Arbol (parametric climate risk insurance), Stoik (cyber insurance), SESAMm (ESG controversy detection), and PropHero (investment and rental management).
Strategic vision:
BNPP AM emphasizes synergies within BNP Paribas Group, aiming for three to five new strategic investments annually.
