Brazil’s Energy Sector Embraces Digital Transformation

Eneva, one of Brazil’s largest private energy companies, has entered a multi-year partnership with Accenture and Google Cloud to overhaul its operations using cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and advanced data analytics. The initiative reflects Brazil’s accelerating need for reliable energy as consumer demand, data centers, and AI-driven industries increase the strain on national supply.

Accenture has already migrated Eneva’s core infrastructure to Google Cloud, giving the company a unified platform for enterprise data. That includes deployment of Google Compute Engine and disaster recovery systems designed to strengthen resilience against service disruptions.

Boosting Productivity with AI

By consolidating data from exploration, production, and operations into the cloud, Eneva is applying AI tools to optimize asset management and maintenance. The company reports that operators can now complete maintenance tasks in half the usual time, freeing up staff for higher-value work.

We’re not only seeing potential in the combination of cloud, data and AI—we’re already experiencing its transformative power across our business,” said Alexandre Ferreira, Chief Information Officer at Eneva. He added that Accenture’s industry expertise and Google Cloud’s capabilities have created “the ideal collaboration” to improve precision, agility, and innovation in serving customers.

Strategic Technology Convergence

Eneva is integrating Google Cloud’s Gemini 2.5 AI and optimization platforms with Accenture’s energy-sector expertise to detect hidden patterns in operations data. This allows the company to anticipate maintenance needs and reduce downtime—critical gains in a country facing surging energy demand.

Eneva’s journey is a powerful example of what’s possible when deep industry expertise meets cutting-edge cloud, data and AI technology,” said Scott Alfieri, who leads the Accenture Google Business Group. “We’re helping one of Brazil’s largest energy companies unlock new levels of efficiency and customer impact.”

Victor Morales, Vice President for Global System Integrator Partnerships at Google Cloud, added: “This partnership demonstrates how our advanced cloud and AI technologies can help critical industries modernize their operations and deliver more resilient and efficient services.”

Implications for Brazil’s Energy Market

The collaboration comes as Brazil grapples with balancing energy demand from industrial growth and digital infrastructure with national climate and decarbonization goals. Eneva’s move to digitize operations positions the company to generate stronger cash flows, extend equipment life cycles, and expand capacity without equivalent increases in emissions.

For investors and policymakers, the project illustrates how technology partnerships can accelerate the modernization of emerging market energy systems. By streamlining costs while improving reliability, Eneva is strengthening its role in meeting Brazil’s dual priorities: economic growth and energy transition.
