Standard Chartered Appoints Roger Charles as Head of Sustainability Initiatives

  • Based in Singapore, Charles will work with coverage, product, and sustainability teams to help clients meet decarbonization goals.

Standard Chartered has appointed Roger Charles as Head of Sustainability Initiatives, Coverage, within its Corporate & Investment Banking team.

Charles, an environmental, social, and climate risk specialist, brings more than 25 years of experience across oil and gas, consulting, and banking. He joins from DBS Bank, where he helped shape sustainable and transition finance and drive its net zero strategy across Asia. Prior to that, he held senior roles at DuPont Sustainable Solutions and Tullow Oil.

Based in Singapore, Charles will report to Stella Choe, Global Head of Corporate Coverage. His remit includes supporting coverage and product partners and collaborating with the Group Sustainability team to deliver on clients’ sustainability objectives.
