Uber Technologies has appointed Rebecca Tinucci, former Tesla executive, as its Global Head of Sustainability. Starting on September 16, Tinucci will spearhead Uber’s ambitious goal to electrify its fleet by 2040.

Andrew Macdonald, Uber’s head of mobility, highlighted Tinucci’s qualifications: “Her deep expertise, relationships across the automotive industry… will be an incredible asset to the Uber team as we continue to drive towards zero emissions.

Uber’s commitment includes a substantial $800 million investment through 2025 to support the transition. Tinucci’s role will extend beyond EV adoption, also focusing on sustainable packaging and reducing plastic waste in restaurant deliveries.
