White Summit Capital has completed the first close of its Decarbonization Infrastructure Fund II, raising over €350 million, surpassing 50% of its €500 million target. Investors include the European Investment Fund, global asset managers, insurance companies, institutional investors, and family offices. The second close is expected in Q2 2025.

Strategic Focus:

The fund aims to bridge the energy transition funding gap by investing in mid-market infrastructure platforms across Western Europe, emphasizing renewables integration, sustainable transportation, and industrial decarbonization. White Summit Capital plans to back companies with strong management teams that can scale their asset base.

Gonzalo López Medina, Managing Partner, emphasized the unique market positioning: “The convergence of energy transition and energy security within our target markets makes WDIF-II the perfect partner for industrial companies and platforms seeking scale. We see tremendous off-market deal flow in the mid-market space.”

Seed Transactions:

  1. Powesco: An energy-efficiency-as-a-service platform in France, providing long-term service contracts that help buildings reduce consumption without upfront capital. With a €40 billion market opportunity and regulations requiring buildings over 1,000m² to cut energy use by 60% by 2050, Powesco is positioned for significant growth.
  2. Transiziona: An Iberian renewable integration platform that combines hydro, wind, solar, and storage technologies. Its seed portfolio includes mini-hydro assets in Portugal with strong performance and future hybridisation potential.
