- Time-saving automation: Apparel and consumer goods companies can now calculate Scope 3 emissions in minutes instead of months.
- Primary data integration: Enables accurate emissions tracking by incorporating real supply chain data, moving away from estimates.
- Audit-ready reporting: Companies gain confidence in their Scope 3 reports, backed by limited assurance from Apex.
Worldly, a leader in supply chain sustainability insights, launched its Product Impact Calculator, the first tool to seamlessly integrate primary supply chain data with pre-built product impact models. This innovation allows apparel and consumer goods companies to quickly access actionable, granular Scope 3 emissions insights.
Scope 3 emissions represent over 90% of the emissions in the apparel and consumer goods sectors. Accurately calculating and reducing these emissions is crucial for meeting reduction targets and adhering to upcoming reporting regulations.
Until now, sustainability teams have struggled with spend-based calculations, spending months gathering data from various sources and spreadsheets.
Alex Lauver, Senior Director of Materials, Innovation & Sustainability at Outdoor Research, emphasized, “Our industry has been striving towards the collection and application of primary data—away from averages, assumptions, or estimates—so we can really improve environmental performance and reduce the industry’s carbon footprint as quickly as possible.”
Worldly’s new tool leverages in-depth product and material data, automating time-consuming spreadsheet calculations by integrating companies’ own supply chain data. It pulls from purchase orders, supply chain operations, and product specs, progressively refining each purchase order’s associated emissions.
For added accuracy, companies can integrate data from the Higg Index, the globally recognized impact measurement methodology developed by Cascale, a nonprofit alliance. This provides companies with auditable, reliable reporting for Scope 3 emissions, now backed by limited assurance from Apex.
Kelly Hughes, Senior Sustainability Manager at Ruffwear, praised the tool’s efficiency: “The speed and ease of use of the Product Impact Calculator will inspire new ways to track against our GHG budget in the same manner and cadence that we track against our financial budget.”

Kevin Vranes, Worldly’s Chief Product Officer, added: “We have assembled all the ingredients for companies to get an accurate reading of their GHG emissions, and this tool gives them an easily customizable experience where they do not have to start from scratch, but can use existing primary data from their own supply chain.”
This launch follows Worldly’s recent introduction of the Facility Data Manager, which allows companies to gather primary, validated environmental data as often as monthly. With its extensive supplier network and product expertise, Worldly continues to lead the way in helping companies meet their sustainability goals.
