Leaders across industries are working to adapt their business models and accelerate the transition to net zero. However\, executives’ confidence in achieving decarbonization targets is low. According to Siemens’ Infrastructure Transition Monitor research carried out by FT Longitude\, only 15% of respondents believe they are very likely to reach their emission goals for the year ahead. \nIn addition\, some of the sectors that are aiding the shift away from fossil fuels\, including battery and semiconductor production\, and EV manufacturing and charging\, are actually contributing to the pressure on infrastructure and electricity supply. Digital technologies\, such as AI capabilities\, are accelerating positive change\, yet the rapid expansion of data centers is also increasing power demand. The IEA estimates that power consumption at data facilities makes up 1-1.5% of overall global energy use. \nNo one entity can meet corporate sustainability commitments alone; it takes an ecosystem of energy-intensive industries\, utilities and technology partners working together to reach a solution. \nThis panel on Accelerating Decarbonization Across Industries in the US\, hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with Siemens\, is for corporate leaders working on emissions reduction and business growth.
