SUMMARY:Alliance Action Forum #UNGA 77
DESCRIPTION:Measuring and evaluating business impact is a critical part of the successful delivery of Agenda 2030. There are calls from governments and civil society – and increasingly from companies themselves – for better monitoring to ensure progress and alignment. However\, the world currently lacks a mechanism to hold its most influential companies accountable for their impact and to see whether the actions lead to genuine transformational change on this shared agenda. Holistic transparency and accountability of private sector engagement and impact can support the aspiration the international community seeks for more equity\, fairness and effectiveness in multilateral decision-making. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this context\, together\, as a global and multi-stakeholder Alliance\, how can we aspire to set action for corporate accountability firmly on the UN agenda\, especially looking ahead to creating a roadmap to the Future Summit in 2023? How can we embed business accountability into the UN’s core working principles\, turn narrative into commitments\, and strengthen means of implementation for the SDGs? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHeld in an interactive workshop format\, the dialogue will have 30 multi-stakeholder participants (civil society\, NGOs\, business associations\, academic institutions\, investors\, multilateral agencies\, consultancies) from WBA’s global Alliance. It will be framed by interventions from representatives from each stakeholder group\, all in line with the ambitions of the 77th Session of the General Assembly. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by RESCUEorg\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:All you need is trust: strengthening confidence in business relationships
DESCRIPTION:In today’s interconnected world\, trust within and between businesses is continually put to the test. Suppliers need businesses to trust that they will deliver goods and services on time. Corporate customers need to trust that businesses are safeguarding their data. And businesses must trust that suppliers are upholding workplace standards and ethics. But with supply chains and business units spread across the globe\, and most transactions\, trades and negotiations taking place remotely\, it has become ever harder for businesses to build and maintain trust.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs any business leader knows\, trust is built slowly and over time\, but it can be broken almost overnight. And where it fails\, businesses stand to lose not just profits and reputation\, but human capital too. But while business leaders say they recognise the importance of trust\, there appears to be an action gap. A PwC survey of 503 business executives in the US revealed that 50% of the companies surveyed had not defined what trust meant to their business\, and even fewer had embedded it as part of their business strategy.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCovid-19 demonstrated starkly the disruptive effects of a global crisis\, and the strains and expectations placed on business as a result. With companies navigating an increasing number of everyday threats\, from the impacts of climate change to rising cybersecurity risks\, businesses need to be able to rely on their relationships to ride out the storms. Trust can be a powerful tool in the corporate arsenal\, but strategic thinking is required to place it front and centre in business strategy. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgrammed by Economist Impact and sponsored by Icertis\, this webinar will convene business representatives\, consultants and thought leaders to examine how companies can strengthen trust in business-to-business relationships to improve profits\, performance and resilience.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe questions we will seek to address include:  \n\n\n\n● Is there a trust deficit in business-to-business relationships? How did covid-19 impact trust in business relationships?  \n\n\n\n● To what extent can trust be defined\, quantified and measured?  \n\n\n\n● What are the key drivers of trust within a business? What factors do stakeholders value most?  \n\n\n\n● How can businesses put trust at the centre of their corporate purpose and business strategies? What lessons can be learned and applied?  \n\n\n\n● To what extent is trust a determinant of business success? How can trust improve business performance and outcomes? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:The growing case for responsible business education
DESCRIPTION:How can business schools encourage innovative approaches to further sustainable practices? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs sustainability tops the commercial agenda\, business schools are being urged to do more to integrate social and environmental topics into their courses\, as well as foster diversity among their faculty and students. Are they succeeding? \n\n\n\nOften driven by student demand\, schools have introduced more course content on sustainable business\, but many are offered only as electives. The challenge still remains to integrate topics such as biodiversity and social enterprise into core courses\, such as operations and finance. \n\n\n\nSchools are also being criticised for curriculum content that is still based around the ‘shareholder primacy’ model and the pursuit of short-term returns rather than the long-term strategies needed to address issues such as inequality or climate change. \n\n\n\nThe Financial Times is partnering with InTent to present this virtual webinar to showcase the winners from the Responsible Business Education Awards 2022\, which aimed to encourage innovative approaches to areas such as tackling climate change\, increasing sustainability\, and bringing about greater diversity and inclusion. We will also be discussing practical and measurable strategies for enhancing responsible business practices in business schools and business operations. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n9:00 AM – 10:00 AM GMT +0 / 4:00 AM – 5:00 AM Your local time   (1 Hour) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe growing case for responsible business education | MAIN AUDITORIUM BROADCAST \n\n\n\nStarts 2 min before the session time \n\n\n\n09:00 – 09:10  WelcomeAndrew Jack\, Global Education Editor\, Financial TimesAndré Hoffmann\, Co-Founder of InTent & Vice Chairman of Roche \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n09:10 – 09:15  Video on Responsible Business Education Awards 2022 \n\n\n\n09:15 – 09:50  Panel discussionBusiness schools are coming under growing pressure from students\, employers and faculty alike to enhance their focus on responsible business education in their teaching\, research and their own operations.
