SUMMARY:Unlocking Sustainable Finance for Nature-Based Solutions #UNGA77
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an event on the sidelines of UNGA 77 in New York where Devex — in partnership with FinDev Canada\, Pollination and ANZ — will show how private investors and development finance institutions hold the power to protect\, sustainably manage\, and restore ecosystems through investments in nature-based solutions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInvestors are now coming under increasing scrutiny over how far their investments support a pathway to net-zero\, particularly in low- and middle-income countries that often bear the highest burden of climate impacts. Private investors and development finance institutions have an opportunity to participate meaningfully in the funding of nature-based projects in these markets and expand access to bankable solutions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe financing of nature-based solutions requires collaboration across a diverse set of partners\, including the public and private sector\, conservation organizations\, commercial and impact investors\, donors\, and many more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by devex\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:ESG: Unlocking Impact Through Education #UNGA77
DESCRIPTION:A new approach to ESG and Corporate Social Responsibility\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is open to ESG\, social impact\, corporate philanthropy and sustainability professionals. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvidence demonstrates strong correlations between education and diverse outcomes ranging from health\, climate\, economic growth and wages to equity\, diversity and inclusion. This event will explore how corporate actions\, small and large\, can make a quantifiable and direct impact across all aspects of environmental\, social and governance (ESG) priorities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCompanies traditionally committed to education as a social impact priority are finding it difficult to justify these efforts under new ESG frameworks linked to risk mitigation and sustainability. Similarly\, ESG professionals do not view acting on education as leverage point to advance ESG objectives.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe discussion will provide a framework for investment in education to mitigate risk\, improve corporate performance\, and enhance corporate perception. while making a more tangible impact on society. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by gbceducation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:Alliance Action Forum #UNGA 77
DESCRIPTION:Measuring and evaluating business impact is a critical part of the successful delivery of Agenda 2030. There are calls from governments and civil society – and increasingly from companies themselves – for better monitoring to ensure progress and alignment. However\, the world currently lacks a mechanism to hold its most influential companies accountable for their impact and to see whether the actions lead to genuine transformational change on this shared agenda. Holistic transparency and accountability of private sector engagement and impact can support the aspiration the international community seeks for more equity\, fairness and effectiveness in multilateral decision-making. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this context\, together\, as a global and multi-stakeholder Alliance\, how can we aspire to set action for corporate accountability firmly on the UN agenda\, especially looking ahead to creating a roadmap to the Future Summit in 2023? How can we embed business accountability into the UN’s core working principles\, turn narrative into commitments\, and strengthen means of implementation for the SDGs? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHeld in an interactive workshop format\, the dialogue will have 30 multi-stakeholder participants (civil society\, NGOs\, business associations\, academic institutions\, investors\, multilateral agencies\, consultancies) from WBA’s global Alliance. It will be framed by interventions from representatives from each stakeholder group\, all in line with the ambitions of the 77th Session of the General Assembly. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by RESCUEorg\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:SDG Summit USA 2022
DESCRIPTION:About the event\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nToday’s business landscape is characterized by an unprecedented\, accelerating\, and complex mix of risks and opportunities. New markets are emerging rapidly due to megatrends such as climate change\, supply chain realignment\, and global health risks. There is a growing understanding – especially by business leaders ahead of the curve – that it is not enough for companies to react to these trends. They must take a proactive role in shaping a better world for this and future generations. The businesses that understand this challenge and act will be a step ahead. The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a powerful north star for improving our world\, laying out collectively where we need to go and how to get there. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn Network USA’s first in-person event post-COVID\, we will bring together US companies during the UN General Assembly who actively support the UN Secretary General’s call to align their strategies and operations with universal principles. This year\, Network USA will be hosting SDG Summit USA to showcase actions that American companies are taking to increase ambition\, innovation\, and implement the SDGs into their core operations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by GlobalCompactUS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance.
