SUMMARY:Alpha in a New Era: Finding the Next Frontier in Private Equity
DESCRIPTION:Alpha in a New Era: Economic disruptions typically cause a period of hesitation to participate in markets. In the aftermath of the global financial crisis\, investors flocked to haven assets\, but this pattern shifted during the covid-19 pandemic. Equity markets reached new highs and private markets saw record inflows. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCentral banks’ swift and decisive action was an important first step that led to a new phase in private markets. The safety net provided by policymakers helped preserve market function. Private equity also stepped in to support businesses with capital\, fostering ideal conditions for transaction activity across alternative markets and helping to stave off corporate defaults. In a market flush with capital and liquidity\, the next phase for investors and allocators will bring challenges and opportunities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExuberance in private markets is giving way to the growing pains of a long and choppy economic recovery. In the next phase of the return to normalcy\, high valuations\, leverage and changes in monetary policy will bring new risks to private equity investors along with unique opportunities in overlooked sectors and markets. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Economist Impact for Alpha in a New Era: Finding the Next Frontier in Private Equity\, a virtual event sponsored by PineBridge Investments\, to explore how private equity investors are positioning themselves to generate alpha in today’s changing market and how that will affect portfolio allocations for the next decade. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKey questions:– How should investors and allocators prepare for changes in liquidity conditions?– How will volatility affect the availability of capital as the economic recovery from the pandemic continues?– After the recovery\, which changes in market conditions will become permanent?– What are some overlooked industries that will help investors position themselves to achieve alpha in this next phase of the economic recovery? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by EconomistEvents\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:The Protein Transformation: A Critical Driver of the Net-Zero Economy
DESCRIPTION:The Protein Transformation: The global food system is one of the major drivers of carbon emissions\, climate change\, biodiversity loss\, and depletion of freshwater resources. A dietary shift towards more plant-based food\, and notably traditional plant-based and alternative proteins\, may be key to significantly reduce these environmental impacts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe invite you to join MSCI and Blue Horizon\, as we discuss the climate risks and opportunities the food sector may face due to the protein transformation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor investors\, we take a look at how MSCI ESG Research’s Climate Value-at-Risk (Climate VaR) model offers quantitative insights into how the protein transformation may be factored into company valuation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor corporate issuers\, we provide insights to help to manage climate risk exposure they may face by participating in the traditional plant-based and alternative proteins market growth. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor regulators\, we explore quantitative metrics to assess the food sector’s contribution to achieving net-zero targets. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Speakers \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by MSCI_Inc\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:Navigating the challenges and opportunities for Investors in 2022
DESCRIPTION:Senior industry leaders will share their insights\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe pandemic\, climate change and the global energy crisis have underscored the urgent need for governments and businesses to develop resilient and sustainable strategies to ‘build back better’. Investors must navigate a complex and fast-shifting global economy that continues to be impacted by new Covid variants.Growing consumer demand indicates economic recovery continues\, but the knock-on impact of supply chain bottlenecks has contributed to rising prices and higher inflation. Meanwhile central banks are on different trajectories with some having already acted in response to higher inflation while others continue to keep policy on hold\, waiting for robust evidence of sustained growth. The Financial Times\, in partnership with T. Rowe Price is pleased to present a webinar exclusively tailored to institutional investors with an Asian perspective\, including pension funds\, insurers and wealth managers. Our expert panel will explore the challenges\, risks and opportunities for investors\, and consider how asset classes will fare in 2022. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKey topics to be discussed \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow will raising prices and inflation impact asset allocation in various asset classes? \n\n\n\n\n\nWhere do Asian investors see global investment opportunities in 2022? \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat impact will major economies like China and the US have? \n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker Line Up \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWenting Shen \n\n\n\nMulti-Asset Solutions Strategist \n\n\n\nT. SUMMARY:Live Event- Public Funds Summit 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Public Funds Summit provides a unique environment in which members of the public sector can exchange ideas and learn from other delegates\, money managers\, and consultants. Although attendance is not limited to those in the public sector\, the conference takes aim at topics that are of particular relevance to public pension funds. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFunding concerns and declining returns have led many pension plans to seek a balance between risk and reward in order to meet pension obligations. Furthermore\, the role of investment and its returns are essential to the concern of meeting obligations to pension members. How investment managers\, across various strategies\, can aid public pension plans in ensuring a safe future for its members will be key in the conversations at the event. The exchange of ideas both in and out of the session halls is key in educating and identifying viable alternatives that will address these concerns. Beyond the investment sphere\, we also address legal issues facing pension plans\, ethics regulations and the importance of on-going education for plan sponsors and their fiduciaries. We will also discuss the importance of politics and public perception of pension plans and the role that trustees and pension officers have in creating a positive image for their plans. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTweets by Opal_Group\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance. SUMMARY:Virtual Event: DiffuseTap - Rising Female Crypto Founders - SDG #5\, #8

SUMMARY:Alternative Investing Summit 2021
DESCRIPTION:The Alternative Investing Summit will bring together trustees and representatives of institutions as well as money managers and consultants to explore the roles of alternative opportunities and strategies. As a strategy\, alternatives offer investors a method to obtain the returns they require and break the paradigm of the 60/40 rule\, however not all alternatives are the same nor do they come without certain risks. Participants and delegates of this alternative investment conference will investigate a range of critical investment issues\, including discussion of the risks and benefits of various asset classes and investment vehicles such as hedge funds and private equity\, examining means of cutting costs associated with implementation of absolute returns strategies\, reviewing the future of commodities and surveying the landscape of emerging international markets. With the current struggle of obtaining these returns\, the question of fees has become of particular relevance\, especially within the field of alternatives as investors measure their risks v. rewards. We will also look into impact investing as a way of obtaining returns that are socially responsible as well as many issues involved with fund management and the importance of education for trustees and other investment officers. \n\n\n\nThe label “alternative” describes a nebulous investment class to many investors\, especially those in the institutional world who have strict ethical and fiduciary obligations to their organizations. However\, pursuing alternative investments is essential to maximizing returns while maintaining proper asset allocation in plan portfolios of endowments\, foundations\, family offices\, and public and corporate funds. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESG News Editorial TeamThe ESG News Editorial Team is comprised of veteran financial journalists and sustainability analysts dedicated to providing real-time\, objective reporting on global ESG regulations\, climate finance\, and corporate governance.
