Sylvain Vanston is Executive Director, Climate Investment Research at MSCI since November 2021. In this capacity he helps formulate a research agenda for MSCI’s climate-related content through collaboration with a wide range of teams and works with strategic clients globally on issues of climate risk reporting, risk management, portfolio management, TCFD, GFANZ, climate metrics, biodiversity, etc.

Previously, he worked at the AXA Group where he was in charge of generating new policy developments and integrating Climate Change and Biodiversity-related factors into the AXA Group’s operational, underwriting and investment processes (e.g. ESG integration, Impact Investing, divestment, shareholder engagement, underwriting guidelines, coalition building, green products, etc). He also led AXA’s work within the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance, Net-Zero Insurance Alliance, TCFD and TNFD.

His academic background is in International Relations, with degrees from Sciences Po Paris, London School of Economics, and Kent University. He started his career in Public Relations and business finance, followed by SRI ratings and analysis.

Kyra works as a climate change specialist consultant and is part of MSCI’s climate risk center (CRC). In her role, she works with financial sector and corporate clients on climate risk and opportunity analysis to inform the development and implementation of climate strategies. She assists financial institutions with the integration of climate data and models into investment processes, the implementation of the TCFD recommendations and TCFD-aligned reporting as well with the development of portfolio decarbonization strategies and the implementation of net zero targets.

Prior to joining MSCI, Kyra worked at UBS, including the UBS Asset Management’s Sustainable and Impact Investing team, the UBS Optimus Foundation’s Social Finance team and UBS Wealth Management’s finance division. She also worked for the 2 Degrees Investing Initiative, a global think tank providing research and tools to align the financial markets and regulation with the Paris Agreement goals. As part of her work, she co-published research on the impact of a green supporting factor on European banks and lending in the Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance.

Kyra holds a BA in International Studies from Leiden University (The Hague, NL) and a MA in International Energy from Sciences Po (Paris, FR).

Christine is part of the global ESG & Climate Index Product within MSCI, Christine focuses on the MSCI ESG index product strategy and development. As part of her role, she engages with leading investors and product providers around the world in order to establish their needs as they seek to integrate ESG into their investment process.

Christine joined MSCI in 1996 shortly after earning her MSc in Business Management from HEC University of Lausanne, Switzerland. She initially joined as part of the index research team and was a member of several internal decision-making committees including the MSCI Equity Index Committee.
?As a career break, Christine spent two years working in India, based in New Delhi. She worked on several projects including a one-year assignment with M-Cril, a microfinance ratings agency
