BBVA Expands Global Sustainability Training to 466 SME Suppliers in Third Year of UN Program
  • Broader Reach: BBVA trained 466 SME suppliers across 13 countries, an 11% increase from 2024.
  • Global Engagement: The UN-backed program saw a record 5,200 SME suppliers participating, up 55% from last year.
  • Enhanced Accessibility: Training is available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, ensuring global supplier participation.

BBVA continues its commitment to sustainability by training 466 SME suppliers in 13 countries, an 11% improvement over last year’s participation. This initiative is part of the Sustainable Suppliers Training Program under the UN Global Compact, aiming to equip SMEs with the knowledge and tools needed for sustainable transformation.

The five-month program tackles key challenges SMEs face, including a lack of knowledge and training resources. Participating SMEs must have between 10 and 300 employees and gain access to four structured training modules covering sustainability, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.

Training is delivered online, free of charge, through a multilingual platform in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. The platform provides courses, recorded sessions, case studies, and best practice guides. Downloadable support materials, such as templates and checklists, help SMEs integrate sustainability into their supply chains.
