- Mission-Critical Role: Atlas-SSI’s U.S.-manufactured equipment protects industrial and municipal assets, removes pollution, and reduces carbon emissions.
Goldman Sachs Alternatives has acquired Atlas-SSI, a North American water management solutions provider, in a move that underscores the rising demand for sustainable water infrastructure.
The acquisition, led by Goldman’s Sustainable Investing team, enables Atlas-SSI to tap into new markets, scale its U.S.-based manufacturing, and meet heightened industrial and municipal demand driven by aging infrastructure, environmental stress, and data center expansion.
“We are thrilled to partner with the team at Goldman Sachs Alternatives as we enter our next phase of growth,” said Paul Lewis, CEO of Atlas-SSI. “This partnership enables Atlas-SSI to accelerate our mission of delivering innovative water management solutions that protect critical infrastructure and ecosystems. With Goldman Sachs’ support, we’ll expand our capabilities, enhance our technology leadership and continue to meet the critical and growing needs of our customers.”

Atlas-SSI plays a vital role in safeguarding industrial, utility, municipal, and commercial water systems. Its equipment acts as the first line of defense—filtering plastics and pollutants while protecting aquatic life. The company’s re-manufacturing processes also reduce carbon emissions and material waste.

“Atlas-SSI provides essential equipment which serves as the first line of defense for mission-critical assets, with end markets having non-discretionary demand for high quality water,” said Jeff Possick of Goldman Sachs Alternatives. “The Company has built significant customer trust as one of the only end-to-end solutions providers in North America providing highly reliable equipment with 100% of manufacturing in the U.S.”

North America’s water infrastructure is facing mounting pressure.
- The EPA estimates over $744 billion is needed over two decades to modernize the water system.
- Industrial growth, onshoring, and the rise of data centers are intensifying demand for reliable water access.
- Atlas-SSI’s solutions are poised to meet this challenge by upgrading and servicing current systems and enabling new facility buildouts.
“We believe Atlas-SSI is well positioned to capitalize on macro tailwinds by upgrading and servicing current systems to be more resilient and supporting new facility buildout,” added Possick. “We’re proud to leverage our deep experience in the water sector to support Atlas-SSI as they expand their market leadership.”
Atlas-SSI, backed by Goldman Sachs, is now strategically positioned to accelerate its impact in a sector critical to both environmental resilience and industrial growth.
