HUGO BOSS has launched NovaPoly, a proprietary recycled polyester yarn designed to address the fashion industry’s environmental footprint—particularly microplastic pollution.
Developed in collaboration with Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC, NovaPoly is made from textile waste collected during both clothing production and post-consumer use. It is enhanced with a natural additive that mimics organic fiber behavior, enabling the material to degrade more readily in the environment.
“This innovation supports HUGO BOSS’ strategic target to fight microplastics,” the company stated, emphasizing NovaPoly’s central role in its sustainability platform.
HUGO BOSS holds the trademark and exclusive use rights for one year, with future plans to license NovaPoly across the fashion industry. The yarn is a key pillar of the company’s BOSS THE CHANGE initiative, reinforcing its commitment to circular fashion and next-gen material innovation.

“We are actively working towards a licensing model to make the innovative fiber accessible to a broader range of industry partners,” a spokesperson added.
NovaPoly builds on previous sustainable material collaborations, such as the company’s work with HeiQ AeoniQ on alternative polyamide fibers.
The first commercial rollout of NovaPoly will feature in the Spring/Summer 2026 BOSS Green collection, debuting globally in October 2025. Products will be available online, in BOSS stores, and through selected wholesale retail partners.
