Key achievements include a 62% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, £6.4bn in sales from sustainable products, and £6.1m invested in community initiatives. The company’s strategy focuses on inclusivity, climate action, and supporting greener, healthier homes.

Kingfisher advances emissions reduction and responsible business commitments

Kingfisher plc has made substantial strides in its responsible business goals, highlighting key achievements in emissions reduction and community support.

Emissions Reduction

Kingfisher reduced Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 62% since 2016/17, surpassing its 2025/26 target. CEO Thierry Garnier emphasized, “Our ambition to reach net zero emissions by 2040 is on track, and we’ve made significant progress with our Scope 3 emissions through innovation and vendor collaboration.

Sustainable Home Products

In 2023/24, Kingfisher’s Sustainable Home Products (SHPs) accounted for £6.4bn in sales, representing nearly half of the company’s total sales. This aligns with their target of 60% of group sales from SHPs by 2025/26.

Community Investments

Kingfisher invested £6.1m in community projects in 2023/24, benefiting over 1.2 million people and surpassing their target to help 2 million people by 2025/26.

Inclusivity and Training

The company continues to progress towards gender representation targets, with 28.6% of senior leaders now women. Additionally, Kingfisher has delivered 8.3 million training hours since 2019/20, exceeding their goal ahead of schedule.

Forest Positive Initiative

Kingfisher is committed to responsible sourcing, with 96.6% of its wood and paper products meeting these standards. The company has also invested $750,000 in forest projects, supporting community-managed forests covering ~190,000 hectares.

Kingfisher’s comprehensive approach to sustainability and community support demonstrates its leadership in responsible business practices and commitment to making a positive impact on society and the environment.
