1PointFive and Enterprise Partner on CO₂ Pipeline to Support Texas Carbon Sequestration Hub for Industrial Decarbonization
- 1PointFive and Enterprise Products Partners will develop a CO₂ Transportation network, connecting Houston-area facilities to 1PointFive’s Bluebonnet Sequestration Hub.
- The agreement leverages Occidental’s extensive CO₂ management experience and Enterprise’s midstream expertise for industrial decarbonization.
- The Bluebonnet Sequestration Hub received U.S. Department of Energy funding to advance carbon sequestration efforts in the U.S.
Oxy’s 1PointFive, a leading company in carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS), and Enterprise Products Partners L.P. have joined forces to develop a CO₂ transportation network. This new pipeline system will connect industrial facilities in the Houston Ship Channel region to the Bluebonnet Sequestration Hub, 1PointFive’s emerging carbon storage site in southeast Texas.
“We are excited to reach this milestone and look forward to collaborating with Enterprise to build a CO₂ transportation network for our sequestration hub, which is designed to provide a reliable and efficient way for hard-to-abate sectors to address their CO₂ emissions,” said Jeff Alvarez, President of 1PointFive Sequestration. “This agreement pairs our expertise managing large volumes of CO₂ with Enterprise’s decades of midstream experience to bring confidence to industrial customers seeking a decarbonization solution.”
Enterprise’s role under the Transportation Services Agreement will involve constructing the new pipeline network, which will operate alongside existing infrastructure and provide fee-based CO₂ transportation services. The initiative highlights Enterprise’s ongoing relationship with Occidental and its commitment to supporting industrial decarbonization.
