- Major Expansion: PSE will invest $15.4 billion to build 4,700 km of new power lines and modernize 110 stations.
- Renewables Capacity: The new infrastructure aims to support 82 GW of renewable energy capacity, including offshore wind, solar, and onshore wind.
- Nuclear Integration: The grid will be equipped to connect Poland’s upcoming nuclear power plant and small modular reactors (SMRs).
Poland’s power-grid operator PSE announced a $15.4 billion (64 billion zlotys) investment plan spanning 2025 to 2034. The plan includes:
- 4,700 km of 400 kV lines
- 28 new stations and 110 station modernizations
- A new land-based direct current (DC) line
Renewable Energy Focus:
PSE’s infrastructure upgrades will enable the delivery of renewable power:
- 18 GW from offshore wind farms
- 45 GW from solar (photovoltaics)
- 19 GW from onshore wind
This will enable approximately 160 TWh of annual renewable energy production.

PSE emphasized:
“Together with the production potential of other types of renewable energy sources, this means the possibility of producing approximately 160 TWh of renewable energy per year in a 10-year horizon.”
Nuclear Energy Integration:
The plan also supports future nuclear energy projects, including:
- A nuclear power plant in northern Poland
- Deployment of small modular reactors (SMRs)
These upgrades position Poland’s energy grid to meet growing demands for clean energy while diversifying its power sources.
