  • Major Renewable Infrastructure: A joint utility-scale solar and battery project will power Indonesia’s green industrial complexes and support energy exports to Singapore.
  • Government-Backed Deal: The Co-Investment Agreement was signed at the Presidential Palace with the endorsement of Indonesian President Prabowo and French President Macron.
  • Strategic Energy Transition Play: The project aligns with Indonesia’s national strategy and the ASEAN Power Grid vision, strengthening regional energy security and workforce development.

RGE and TotalEnergies have formalized a Co-Investment Agreement to develop, build, and operate a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with integrated battery energy storage in Indonesia’s Riau Province. The project will be executed through their joint venture, Singa Renewables, and developed in phases to serve both local and regional energy markets.

The agreement, signed on 28 May 2025 at the Indonesian Presidential Palace, was witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron—highlighting strong bilateral support and the strategic significance of the investment.

We are taking meaningful steps to advance regional connectivity and contribute to the acceleration of the energy transition in the region,” said Imelda Tanoto, Managing Director at RGE. “Our Co-Investment Agreement reflects our strong alignment with Indonesia’s National Transformation Strategy (Asta Cita)… We aim to unlock long-term economic value for Indonesia by driving investment, develop Indonesia’s solar energy value chain and create skilled expertise in renewables.

The project will supply clean energy for Indonesia’s growing green industrial sector, supporting domestic decarbonization, while also enabling solar energy exports to Singapore—enhancing ASEAN energy cooperation.
