Swedish Fund Manager Areim Secures €450 Million to Expand Sustainable Data Centers
  • Areim’s Nordic data centre fund reaches EUR 900M in total capital after oversubscribed raise.
  • Raised over EUR 1.2B in equity, debt, and bond capital over the past two years.
  • New funding fuels EcoDataCenter expansion to meet surging demand for digital infrastructure.

Areim has successfully raised an additional EUR 450 million for its Areim DC Fund, pushing total capital to EUR 900 million. The fund attracted strong interest from both Nordic and international institutional investors, broadening its investor base.

Why it matters:

The demand for sustainable data centres is accelerating as digitalisation and AI drive exponential data growth. The Areim DC Fund is positioned to capitalize on this trend in the Nordic market.

“The substantial interest in the Areim DC Fund and EcoDataCenter underlines the demand and attractiveness of the Nordic market for data centres,” said Henrik Brinck Landelius, CEO of Areim. “We are now well-positioned to continue delivering value to customers, investors, and key stakeholders.”

Expansion Strategy

Areim took a majority stake in EcoDataCenter in 2018 and has since acquired full ownership through the Areim DC Fund. The new capital injection will accelerate the company’s expansion.
