TotalEnergies Acquires 435 MW UK Solar and Battery Project Pipeline from Low Carbon

TotalEnergies, Veolia Expand Global Partnership to Cut Methane and Water Use Across Industrial Sites
  • 435 MW Clean Energy Boost: Acquisition includes 350 MW of solar and 85 MW of battery projects, expected to power 100,000 UK homes by 2028.
  • Strategic UK Expansion: Strengthens TotalEnergies’ integrated electricity portfolio alongside offshore wind, CCGT, and solar assets.
  • Accelerates UK’s Clean Power 2030 Goal: Positions both firms as key contributors to national renewable energy targets.

TotalEnergies has acquired a major renewable energy pipeline in the UK—comprising 8 solar projects (350 MW) and 2 battery storage assets (85 MW)—from Low Carbon, a leading renewable developer. The projects, located in the south of England, are expected to be operational by 2028 and will generate over 350 GWh annually, equivalent to the power needs of approximately 100,000 UK households.

We are very pleased with the acquisition of this pipeline from the renewable developer Low Carbon,” said Olivier Jouny, SVP Renewables at TotalEnergies. The acquisition of these solar and battery projects… will complement our integrated electricity portfolio in the UK, which includes 1.1 GW of gross installed offshore wind, 1.3 GW of gross combined cycle gas turbine, and more than 600 MW of solar projects under development.”

This strategic move strengthens TotalEnergies’ commitment to growing its low-carbon portfolio and expands its UK footprint in renewable generation, aligning with long-term decarbonization goals.
