Fashion Impact Fund launches #FASHIONGIVES Campaign for GivingTuesday

The Fashion Impact Fund launches the #FASHIONGIVES campaign as part of the global generosity GivingTuesday movement on November 29, 2022. #FASHIONGIVES supports the Fashion Impact Fund’s mission to provide grants to female founders leading sustainable solutions in fashion. With only 1.9% (Women’s Philanthropy Institute) of charitable giving in the USA going to women’s and girls’ organizations, #FASHIONGIVES is committed to empower female founders that are transforming fashion as a force for good.

For GivingTuesday 2022, the Fashion Impact Fund is partnering with brands and retailers to donate a percentage of sales proceeds to the charitable organization to support grants to female founders advancing sustainable fashion through education, media, and workforce development programs. The inaugural edition of the Fashion Impact Fund’s #FASHIONGIVES campaign consists of 17 partners from 10 countries, including Arte Facta, Emm Kuo, Gifting Brands, Hexed, Komodo, Lunar, Marita Moreno, Maqu, Moi Namaste, Omina Otsieno, One Less, Patricia Govea, Prota Fiori, Releve Fashion, Snide London, The Canvas amd The Narativ.

Kerry Bannigan, Executive Director, Fashion Impact Fund, shares: “I am grateful for #FASHIONGIVES partners who are committed to our mission to accelerate women’s economic empowerment and leadership as female founders in fashion are trailblazing initiatives that are addressing the critical issues of our time. Thank you to GivingTuesday for highlighting #FASHIONGIVES as a key campaign and understanding that fashion plays a critical role in achieving a sustainable future.”

“GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year.” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO, and co-founder. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.”

Every act of generosity counts. Beyond purchasing with purpose from the campaign brand partners, other ways to support #FASHIONGIVES includes:

Donate:  Together we give. Your generosity empowers women’s lives by providing grants to female founders that are transforming fashion as a force for good. Our grants also support job training to provide skills and experience to accelerate women’s economic empowerment and leadership.

Share: Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference. Spread the word by sharing our social media assets with your family, friends and community to encourage them to support us and help others.

Gift: Spread kindness by gifting somebody a pre-loved piece from your wardrobe that you no longer wear. Take a pic and include #FASHIONGIVES. You can also donate clothing to your local thrift/charity shop to extend its life, share the joy of your fashion choices and save clothing from landfill.
