  • €3.26B greenlit as France meets all milestones under NextGenerationEU’s recovery plan.
  • Investments span 11 projects in energy efficiency, digitalisation, mobility, and public services.
  • Reforms target emissions and spending transparency, reinforcing long-term sustainability.

The European Commission has approved a €3.26 billion disbursement to France after concluding the country fulfilled all required milestones under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), part of the EU’s NextGenerationEU initiative.

This is the fourth installment France receives as part of its broader recovery and resilience plan.

“France has fulfilled the milestones and targets required for this payment, financed under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the key instrument of NextGenerationEU.”

France’s payment request included eleven major investments and two structural reforms—key to Europe’s push for a greener, more digital, and competitive future.

The Commission has submitted its preliminary approval to the Economic and Financial Committee, which now has four weeks to issue its opinion. Upon positive feedback, the Commission will formally authorize the €3.26 billion payment to France.

“The Commission issued today a positive preliminary assessment of France’s payment request for €3.26 billion under NextGenerationEU, the centrepiece of Europe’s recovery efforts to build a greener, more digital and competitive Union.”
