IFRS Foundation Launches Free E-Learning Modules to Support ISSB Standards Adoption
  • Free global training: IFRS Foundation offers free self-paced e-learning modules to help companies implement ISSB Standards.
  • Targeted for first-time adopters: Courses build foundational understanding of IFRS S1 and S2, with optional assessments and completion certificates.
  • Supports investor-grade disclosures: Resources aim to boost market confidence in sustainability-related financial reporting.

The IFRS Foundation has launched a suite of free e-learning modules to help companies and stakeholders implement the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) disclosure standards—IFRS S1 and IFRS S2. Accessible via the IFRS Sustainability Knowledge Hub, the modules are designed for those new to the standards and preparing for sustainability-related reporting.

The four self-paced modules include:

  • Introduction to the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards
  • Introduction to IFRS S1: General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information
  • Introduction to IFRS S2: Climate-related Disclosures
  • Integrated Sustainability Disclosures and Organisational Considerations

Each module combines written, visual, and interactive content, and offers a multiple-choice assessment for a certificate of completion.

These e-learning modules will help equip individuals with the knowledge they need to understand our Standards and implement them effectively,” said Sue Lloyd, ISSB Vice-Chair.The ISSB is committed to supporting companies as they implement our Standards. We understand the need for accessible, practical resources to help preparers understand and apply IFRS S1 and IFRS S2.”

Available at no cost for users with an IFRS.org account, the initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to global adoption and effective implementation of ISSB Standards amid growing demand for actionable sustainability reporting tools.

Eligible members of professional accounting bodies may also earn CPD/CPE credits through the modules. For deeper learning, the IFRS Foundation encourages professionals to explore credentials such as the FSA Credential, a two-part exam that links sustainability performance to financial outcomes.

This effort supports the delivery of globally comparable, investor-focused sustainability disclosures, building trust across capital markets.
