Lenovo Launches TruScale DaaS for Sustainability to Cut Carbon, Drive Circular IT
  • Enables enterprises to reduce device-related carbon emissions, extend device lifespan, and accelerate the transition to a circular economy with modular lifecycle services.
  • Achieves up to 35% reductions in IT costs while eliminating upfront capital requirements and delivering measurable ROI in weeks.
  • Integrates tools such as the Carbon Impact Portal, CO₂ Offset Services, and Certified Refurbished Devices to align IT operations with sustainability and ESG goals.

Lenovo has launched TruScale Device as a Service (DaaS) for Sustainability, a modular IT solution designed to help enterprises meet environmental targets while modernizing technology management. Built on Lenovo’s existing TruScale DaaS platform, already managing millions of devices globally, the sustainability-focused model unifies devices, services, and financing under one subscription-based solution.

The offering includes lifecycle modules such as the Carbon Impact Portal for real-time emissions tracking, Certified Refurbished Devices to lower refresh costs, CO₂ Offset Services for lifecycle emissions compensation, and Asset Recovery Services for secure decommissioning and value recovery. These options help reduce emissions, recover value, and limit e-waste. According to McKinsey, up to 60% of end-user device emissions can be eliminated by sourcing fewer devices per user and extending lifespans—an approach Lenovo’s service supports.

Enterprises are rethinking how they manage IT – not just for performance, but for purpose,” said John Stamer, Vice President and General Manager, Global Product Services at Lenovo.TruScale DaaS for Sustainability reflects our vision for the future of IT: circular by default, intelligent by design, and accountable by outcome.

Financial benefits have been significant. Some deployments have seen up to 35% reductions in device-related IT costs, 20% total cost of ownership savings, and IT maintenance reductions between 10% and 40%. All Lenovo commercial laptops and desktops, and 98% of monitors, carry ENERGY STAR certification.
