EBRD Appoints Harry Boyd-Carpenter as Head of Sustainable Infrastructure Group

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed Harry Boyd-Carpenter as Managing Director of its Sustainable Infrastructure Group (SIG), a key division covering municipal infrastructure, transport, and energy. His role begins on January 1, 2025.

Proven Track Record

Boyd-Carpenter has played a pivotal role in advancing EBRD’s green agenda as Managing Director of Climate Strategy & Delivery since 2021. Under his leadership, the Bank has worked towards its annual goal of 50% green investments and aligning all activities with the Paris Agreement.

Extensive Experience

With nearly two decades at the EBRD, Boyd-Carpenter has held leadership roles in the Power and Energy Utilities team, Corporate Strategy department, and Office of the General Counsel. A qualified lawyer, he joined the EBRD in 2005 after stints at Allen & Overy and the European Agency for Reconstruction in Kosovo.

He will replace Nandita Parshad, who is retiring at the end of 2024 after leading SIG with distinction.

Boyd-Carpenter’s appointment underscores the EBRD’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development and its mission to drive climate-focused initiatives across its countries of operation.
