B.Grimm Power Plc and Singapore’s Digital Edge will invest $1 billion to build a 100-megawatt data centre in Thailand, targeting a Q4 2026 launch to support soaring demand for AI, cloud, and digital services in Southeast Asia.

Located in Chon Buri province, about 100 kilometers from Bangkok, the new facility will be “fast-tracked” to meet the needs of global tech firms scaling up AI infrastructure in the region.

This project comes as Thailand accelerates its digital infrastructure ambitions, offering tax incentives and favorable policies to attract global tech giants. Recent announcements include:

  • ByteDance (TikTok): $8.8B investment over five years
  • Alphabet (Google): $1B planned data facility
  • Microsoft: First regional data centre underway
  • $3B in data and energy projects approved by Thailand’s investment board in May

The facility will be designed to meet sustainability benchmarks, tapping into Thailand’s clean energy grid—a key priority for tech companies seeking carbon-neutral operations.

Looking ahead, B.Grimm Power is studying further investments totaling $1.6 billion for up to 200 additional megawatts in data centre capacity, according to Usa Nuetap, Head of Data Centre Development at B.Grimm Power.

The partnership marks a strategic alignment of digital and energy infrastructure, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a next-generation digital economy leader in Asia.
