Bain & Company, in partnership with the World Governments Summit (WGS), has launched the Sustainability Readiness Tool, an AI-driven solution to help organizations assess their sustainability preparedness and bridge the gap between intent and impact.
“This tool provides organizations with a structured approach to assess their sustainability readiness and align with global best practices. And as global sustainability challenges intensify, it is crucial for organizations to take decisive action,” said Samer Bohsali, Senior Partner and EMEA Leader of Bain’s Public Sector practice.

Why It Matters
Bain’s research shows that while nearly 70% of organizations in MENA report integrating sustainability into their operations, only 3% are on track to achieve their goals. The tool aims to convert ambition into action by providing a clear, data-driven roadmap.

- Link sustainability to corporate strategy – Embedding sustainability into core business goals.
- Engage cross-functional teams – Building organization-wide sustainability ownership.
- Activate achievable missions – Creating actionable and measurable sustainability initiatives.
- Drive innovation and scale solutions – Establishing agile systems for rapid execution.
“The launch of the Sustainability Readiness Tool represents a significant step forward in helping businesses navigate the complexities of sustainability transformation,” said Wissam Yassine, Partner and leader in Bain’s Middle East Sustainability practice.

Benchmarking Against Industry Leaders
A key feature of the tool is its ability to benchmark organizations against industry leaders such as Emirates NBD, Fakhruddin Holdings, FAB, SAB, Bain & Company, Acwa Power, Taqa, E&, and EGA. Companies can use the tool to:
- Identify key gaps and prioritize high-impact sustainability initiatives.
- Align with global sustainability benchmarks and regulatory expectations.
- Enhance competitive positioning and attract sustainability-conscious investors.
- Leverage data-driven insights to improve ESG ratings and stakeholder confidence.
Moving from Aspiration to Impact
