DP World has secured validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its ambitious carbon reduction targets. The SBTi, a leading authority on corporate climate action, endorsed DP World’s plan to significantly reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s sustainability journey.

Deep Cuts in Emissions

DP World is committed to reducing scope 1 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. The company also plans to decrease scope 2 emissions by 62.2% and absolute scope 3 emissions by 28% within the same period. These targets are part of a broader strategy to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Building on Progress

DP World has already reduced its emissions by 13% since 2022, demonstrating significant progress towards its sustainability goals. The company’s new targets are a testament to its commitment to deepening its efforts and expanding its scope 3 reduction initiatives.
