NorthStandard named Kate Kwiatkowska as its new Head of Sustainability, reinforcing the marine insurer’s strategic focus on ESG.

Kwiatkowska joins from Fintel plc, where she was Head of ESG and Corporate Marketing. She will now spearhead sustainability initiatives across NorthStandard’s global operations, engaging closely with members, brokers, and stakeholders.

“The Head of Sustainability plays a pivotal role at NorthStandard, coordinating, developing and driving the organisation’s strategy to ensure that we are operating responsibly and building an organisation that will support and protect our members not only today but for future generations,” said Ed Davies, Chief Strategy Officer, NorthStandard.

Kwiatkowska’s key responsibilities include setting sustainability priorities, establishing metrics, and enhancing reporting mechanisms to measure ongoing ESG progress.

“Kate has an impressive track record in leading strategic projects and implementing a sustainability strategy for an AIM-listed business in the retail financial services sector. This, coupled with her stakeholder engagement and data analysis skills, makes her an ideal fit for the position,” Davies added. “Her appointment reflects NorthStandard’s continuing commitment to embedding sustainability across the organisation.”

Her accolades include being named ‘Woman of the Year – ESG’ at the Professional Adviser Women in Financial Advice Awards (2024). Kwiatkowska holds an MSc in Risk, Disaster and Environmental Management and certification from Oxford in Leading Sustainable Corporations.

Her appointment aligns with the recent release of NorthStandard’s new Sustainability Report.
