Moeve, Accenture Target Industrial Scope 3 Emissions With AI Driven Decarbonization Plans
  • Moeve and Accenture will support industrial customers with decarbonization plans across operations, energy use and supply chains.
  • The partnership combines renewable electricity, biomethane, HVO and energy cost optimization with Accenture’s data, digital and AI capabilities.
  • The agreement expands “Moeve decarbonize,” following an earlier partnership with GreenYellow focused on energy efficiency project development and financing.

Industrial Decarbonization Moves Further Into Execution

Madrid is becoming a more active front in Europe’s industrial transition, where companies face pressure to cut emissions without losing cost control. Moeve is now working with Accenture to strengthen decarbonization services for industrial customers through its “Moeve decarbonize” platform.

The partnership is designed for sectors where emissions cuts are difficult, expensive and deeply tied to production models. Heavy industry, manufacturing and energy intensive companies must now plan beyond direct energy use. They also need to address value chain emissions, including Scope 3 emissions linked to suppliers, logistics and product use.

For executives, this is where climate strategy becomes operational. Targets no longer sit only in sustainability reports. They now affect energy sourcing, procurement, capital planning, plant efficiency and supplier relationships.

Moeve Builds A Wider Energy Transition Portfolio

Moeve said the collaboration will help customers define and execute decarbonization plans across the entire value chain. Its offer includes renewable electricity, biomethane and hydrotreated vegetable oil, known as HVO. It also includes solutions aimed at lowering and optimizing energy costs.

That balance is important. Industrial companies face rising pressure from customers, regulators and investors to cut emissions. However, they must also protect margins in markets already shaped by energy price volatility and global competition.

“With strategic agreements such as the one we are announcing today with Accenture, we strengthen our ability to support our industrial customers in an energy transition that more than ever requires effectiveness, agility and innovation. The combination of Moeve’s energy expertise with Accenture’s strategic and technological vision enables us to offer comprehensive and differentiated solutions in a market undergoing profound transformation.

The comment points to a broader market shift. Energy companies are moving from fuel supply toward advisory, infrastructure and transition services. At the same time, industrial clients want practical roadmaps that connect emissions reduction with business continuity.

Accenture Brings Data, AI And Sector Expertise

Accenture will support Moeve’s customers through digital tools, including generative AI. The aim is to analyze complex data, model transition scenarios and help companies plan cleaner energy pathways.

This matters most in sectors with complex supply chains. Scope 3 emissions are often harder to measure and manage than direct emissions. They require better data from suppliers, clearer governance and sector specific assumptions.

Mercedes Oblanca, Market Unit Lead for Spain and Portugal at Accenture, added: “The decarbonization of industry is a complex challenge that requires a combination of strategy, technology and rigorous execution. Through this collaboration with Moeve, we will make our capabilities in data, digitalization and AI available to its industrial customers, as well as our strategic and industrial expertise, to help them design and deploy realistic, data-driven decarbonization roadmaps with a comprehensive view of the entire value chain.”

For boards and executive teams, the message is clear. Digital infrastructure is becoming part of climate infrastructure. Companies that cannot model emissions, costs and operational trade offs may struggle to meet targets in a credible way.

Financing And Partnerships Shape The Next Phase

The Accenture agreement adds to Moeve’s growing partner network under “Moeve decarbonize.” Earlier this year, Moeve reached an agreement with GreenYellow to support the development and financing of energy efficiency projects.

That financing angle is central to industrial transition. Many emissions cuts depend on capital upgrades, site level efficiency work and new energy systems. Without finance structures that reduce upfront pressure, even technically viable projects can stall.

The latest partnership gives Moeve a broader offer. GreenYellow supports efficiency project development and financing. Accenture adds strategy, data, digital tools and emissions planning across the value chain.

What Executives Should Take Away

For C-suite leaders and investors, the partnership reflects a clear direction of travel. Industrial decarbonization is moving from broad commitments toward bundled execution models.

The most competitive offers will likely combine energy supply, technology, financing and advisory support. That is especially true in Europe, where regulation, customer demand and capital markets are pushing companies to prove progress.

Moeve and Accenture are positioning for that demand. Their agreement also shows how industrial climate action is becoming more integrated. Energy choices, AI enabled planning, supplier emissions and project finance now sit inside the same boardroom conversation.

For global ESG leaders, the regional relevance is also wider than Spain. If industrial companies can cut emissions while managing costs, the model can travel across other markets. The challenge now is execution at scale, where climate ambition must survive the realities of factories, suppliers and balance sheets.
