BBVA to Donate €32 Million for the People Affected by the Earthquakes in Türkiye

BBVA is to donate €31.89 million for the people affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye. BBVA has also launched a series of campaigns to collect contributions from employees and customers.

BBVA is carrying out a humanitarian aid program aimed at the people affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, through three initiatives.

  1. A TL 650 million donation (€31.89 million) to be channeled in coordination with Turkish authorities.
  2. A campaign to collect contributions through Bizum to be devoted to humanitarian programs, both in Türkiye and Syria. People wishing to contribute can do so by accessing the Bizum service using the code 06941, or going to ‘Contribute to charity’ on the BBVA app. Donations can also be made at the bank’s branch offices. To date, these contributions amount to €1.5 million, through Bizum alone.
  3. A campaign to collect donations among the Group’s employees, which will be devoted to Garanti BBVA employees and their families affected by the earthquakes. To date these donations account for €382,000. BBVA will match the amount donated by its employees.
