CHEP, a Brambles company recognized as the #4 Most Sustainable Company in the world by TIME Magazine, continues to lead in environmental impact with the appointment of Sandra Elizabeth Leyva Martinez as Head of Sustainability for the Americas. CHEP’s circular logistics network spans 60 countries and manages over 347 million reusable pallets, crates, and containers—a testament to its commitment to minimizing waste and optimizing resource reuse.

Leyva’s passion for sustainable impact resonates with the company’s mission. “CHEP isn’t your average company. Leyva’s role will focus on driving innovative sustainability practices across the Americas, leveraging her extensive background in global decarbonization efforts.

Her previous leadership experience includes establishing global sustainability strategies and reporting frameworks that address Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. With a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and an Executive Sustainability Leadership certificate from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Leyva has cultivated a career marked by technical expertise and forward-thinking environmental leadership.

Adding to her credentials, Leyva was selected as one of over 20 women worldwide to join the 2024 WiSER (Women in Sustainability, Environment, and Renewable Energy) Pioneer cohort. The program enhances leadership and innovation skills through exclusive training and mentorship, equipping participants to address global sustainability challenges.

Through her appointment and recognition as a WiSER Pioneer, Leyva aims to further align sustainable practices with profitability, demonstrating that corporate success can drive a healthier planet. “Here’s to transforming industries by challenging the status quo,” she said. “Together, we can redefine what’s possible.”
