Diligent Climate Leadership Certification Announces Full Lineup of Speakers
Diligent, the global leader in modern governance providing SaaS solutions across governance, risk, compliance and ESG, today announces additional featured speakers joining the lineup of celebrated subject matter experts for Climate Leadership Certification.
“Corporate leaders are facing pressure from all directions to take bold action on climate change. This program prepares executives to oversee climate risk and create sustainable growth strategies for their companies, so they can deliver impactful change.”
Created with industry experts including Glass Lewis, a leading proxy advisory services company, and several partners from the ESG & Impact Practice at international law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP, the Climate Leadership Certificate Program is designed to help corporate directors, C-level executives and other modern leaders be better equipped to oversee climate risk and strategy for their companies. The program is available as a self-paced e-learning experience and includes six courses, with video panel sessions featuring subject matter and industry experts, curated readings, interactive exercises and online networking among participants.
The full lineup of speakers is now announced. Registrants will learn from over 40 renowned subject matter experts, who will deliver impactful courses on topics such as connecting climate to the balance sheet, how climate connects to the board’s fiduciary duty and structuring oversight of climate risk. Following overwhelming demand since the launch of courses in February, Diligent has extended the Climate Leadership Certificate Program indefinitely, and registration is open now.

“After experiencing overwhelming demand for our first program cohort which kicked off earlier this month, we are thrilled to open up ongoing registrations and welcome an unparalleled lineup of speakers,” said Brian Stafford, CEO of Diligent. “Corporate leaders are facing pressure from all directions to take bold action on climate change. This program prepares executives to oversee climate risk and create sustainable growth strategies for their companies, so they can deliver impactful change.”
“Society at large is deeply impacted by climate change. Corporations can and should play a leading role in fighting climate change through their production process, their supply chain, and through the development of sustainable products and services,” said Frederic Barge, CEO & Founder, Reward Value. “Diligent’s Climate Leadership Certificate Program is a highly recommendable program to assist executives and directors in driving change, and it has been an honor to contribute.”
“The intersection of climate change and business has never been more complex,” said Alexandra N. Farmer, P.C., Partner, ESG & Impact Practice, Kirkland & Ellis LLP. “Companies are facing increasing demands from regulators, investors, customers and other stakeholders to assess, mitigate and disclose climate risk and strategy, as well as report on greenhouse gas emissions. Yet until now, the market has lacked an approachable, scalable tool for directors and executives to master the fundamentals of climate risk and opportunities. I am pleased that several of our climate-focused partners – Jennie Morawetz, Ruth Knox and Paul Barker – are featured in this lineup of impressive industry experts.
Participants are encouraged to register for the certification program by April 18, 2022 in order to attend the first Climate Briefing Session and Graduation Ceremony in June.
