My name is Hank Rogers. Uh, I’m the founder of blue planet Alliance, uh, which is a successor organization to the blue planet foundation. The blue planet foundation, uh, is a Hawaii based foundation working to end the use of carbon based fuel in Hawaii. Uh, we had a big success because we got Hawaii to be the first state in the country to have a mandate of a hundred percent renewable energy by 2045. And we followed it up by changing the business model of the utility. So they make more money, the quicker they switch to renewables. So they went from being our biggest enemy to our best friend. And so now everyone in Hawaii is moving in the right direction. 12 other states have adopted our legislation and, and Guam and Samoa. And now our newest effort is to go to do it for the rest of the world because us, we’re only 6% with the people in the world and we have to do the entire world.

So the blue planet Alliance based in New York, uh, is starting with small islands because they they’re very similar to Hawaii. They have the biggest problem. They import diesel, which means that they have the most expensive electricity in the world, poorest country, the most expensive electricity. Uh, so we we’re doing is we’re getting small islands to have a mandate of a hundred percent renewable energy by 20 45, 20 45 turns out to be the hundredth anniversary of the United nations.
