Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) partners with global tyre manufacturer Pirelli to introduce FSC-certified natural rubber tyres across its luxury vehicle range. This industry-first initiative debuts on the new Range Rover Electric, showcasing JLR’s commitment to sustainable sourcing and supply chain transparency.

Sustainability in Focus

JLR’s adoption of FSC-certified tyres aligns with its Reimagine strategy, emphasizing responsible sourcing and supply chain traceability. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification ensures that the natural rubber used in these tyres is sustainably farmed and traceable from plantation to production.

Pioneering Collaboration

Matteo Battaini, Pirelli’s Head of Sustainability & New Mobility, highlighted, “The FSC certification confirms that forests are managed to preserve biological diversity while benefiting local workers and communities economically. We’re pleased Jaguar Land Rover is the first car maker to adopt Pirelli tyres with this certification across a wide range of vehicles.“

Broader Impact

This partnership is a significant step towards sustainable tyre production, supporting forest preservation and sustainable development. A 2023 survey showed that 77% of people in the UK recognize the FSC logo, and 71% would prefer FSC-certified products.

Future Plans

JLR and Pirelli are also working to increase the percentage of sustainable and recycled content in all tyres supplied to Jaguar Land Rover.
