Meta Secures 650 MW of Solar Power Through Long-Term PPAs with AES
Listen to this story:
  • Meta to receive 650 MW of solar energy from AES to power its data centers in Texas and Kansas.
  • Projects will generate local economic benefits, including hundreds of construction jobs and long-term tax revenue.
  • AES strengthens leadership in hyperscaler energy supply, now with 10.1 GW in signed contracts globally.

Meta is deepening its renewable energy strategy through two long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with The AES Corporation, totaling 650 megawatts of solar capacity. The clean power will support Meta’s expanding data center operations in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) market, which includes Texas and Kansas.

AES is proud to partner with Meta to deliver reliable and affordable renewable energy that supports their data center growth and ambitious sustainability goals,” said Andrés Gluski, AES President and CEO.By providing energy solutions that offer fast time-to-power and low-cost electricity, we continue to be the partner of choice for companies, like Meta, at the forefront of artificial intelligence innovation.
