PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation Support Türkiye and Syria Earthquake Relief Efforts

Listen to this story:

Following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake which struck South-East Türkiye and North-West Syria on February 6, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation are moving quickly to support the humanitarian response.

With over 2,600 associates in Türkiye, employee safety is a primary concern. PepsiCo Turkey is offering food, shelter and all necessary immediate support to associates as they navigate this devastating situation. The company is also hosting hundreds of PepsiCo employees and their family members in its facilities in South-East Türkiye.

In addition, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation are mobilizing quickly to provide USD $1.2 million, inclusive of employee donation matching, in humanitarian aid to Türkiye and Syria where the thousands impacted are facing sub-zero temperatures. The company’s response efforts include:

  • Partnering with the Türkiye non-profit organization Tider to provide food boxes, hot food, baby product boxes, textiles (heating pads and sleeping pads) and power banks.
  • Partnering with the Türkiye non-profit organization Ahbap to provide accommodations, container shelters and basic needs.
  • Working to identify non-profit partners to provide up to USD $200,000 in humanitarian aid to those impacted in Syria.
  • Launching a global employee matching gift program with a goal of raising $125,000 in employee donations.  The PepsiCo Foundation will match employee donations made to our humanitarian partners (Tider, Ahbap, Save The Children, World Central Kitchen, World Food Programme, CARE and more).

As the situation continues to evolve, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation will continue to explore ways to expand their support for impacted associates and communities in the days ahead.
