Global impact leader responsAbility Investments has advanced its Asia Climate Strategy to over $350 million in its third funding round, surpassing initial private sector capital mobilization goals. With over half of total commitments now coming from private sector investors, the initiative highlights its potential to unlock significant climate funding.
Key progress:
The fund is on track to achieve its $500 million target by 2025, investing in low-emission solutions such as renewable energy, battery storage, and energy efficiency projects across Asia. The investments are projected to save approximately 16 million tons of CO2 emissions over the lifetime of their assets.

KfW, representing Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), increased its junior capital commitment by €20 million ($21 million), signaling strong institutional backing. This commitment catalyzed an additional $100 million from institutional investors, bringing private sector contributions to over $200 million.
Blended finance structure:
The fund’s blended finance model has proven effective in attracting private capital alongside public funds. Public and development finance institutions have contributed $154 million, supporting impactful climate investments.
