Ingka Investments, the investment division of Ingka Group—the largest IKEA retailer—has officially launched its first solar park in Poland, marking a major step in its renewable energy strategy.
Located in Recz, the nearly 29 MW solar park features close to 53,000 panels across 28 hectares and is set to generate approximately 30 GWh of electricity annually. This output will meet the energy needs of more than 12,000 Polish households.
“The solar park in Recz represents another milestone in our long-term strategy for investing in renewable energy sources and strengthening energy security in Poland,” said Ewa Teodorczyk, Ingka Investments Country Manager in Poland. “By expanding our commitment to include solar technology, we firmly believe that the diversity of renewable energy sources is fundamental to building a more sustainable future.”
The solar park was developed in collaboration with Enerparc, a leading European renewable energy project developer. This project not only advances Ingka Group’s ambition to power all its retail operations with 100% renewable electricity by FY25, but also contributes to IKEA’s broader goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

Ingka Investments, active in the Polish market since 2011, currently operates seven wind projects totaling 242 MW. In September 2024, it added a 62.5 MW wind farm in Wysoka, featuring state-of-the-art wind turbine technology.
With the addition of the Recz solar park, Ingka Group’s renewable energy portfolio in Poland now generates enough power to supply the annual energy needs of roughly 260,000 households—producing more energy than consumed by IKEA’s stores, distribution centers, warehouses, and offices across the country.
