Listen to this story:
  • Enhanced ESG Analysis: Access SFDR data, carbon footprint, and Bloomberg ESG scores for over 130,000 companies.
  • Integrated Reporting: New standardized SFDR reports and customizable sustainability reports for regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Analytics: Detailed sustainability analysis, trend analysis, and ESG data comparison across portfolios, funds, and indices.

Bloomberg has launched new tools for investors to measure, manage, and report on the sustainability characteristics of their portfolios. These tools are available in Bloomberg’s portfolio and risk analytics solutions, PORT and PORT Enterprise, providing comprehensive ESG data and analysis.

Investors need increasingly sophisticated solutions to identify sustainability-related risks and opportunities, and meet their objectives and obligations,” said Soojin Lee, Head of ESG Integration and Analytics at Bloomberg. “Bloomberg’s expanded PORT offering enables clients to manage and conduct detailed sustainability analysis on their portfolios, all in one place and through the click of a button.

Enhanced ESG Analysis

The new tools include key ESG indicators mandated under the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), greenhouse gas emissions data for over 130,000 global companies, and Bloomberg’s proprietary ESG scores. This data helps investors compare portfolios using granular sustainability information on each holding and identify positions that do not align with their ESG objectives.

Integrated Reporting

PORT Enterprise now features expanded reporting capabilities, including standardized SFDR reports as per ESMA’s template and customizable sustainability reports. These enhancements help clients disclose their sustainability metrics and comply with EU regulatory requirements.

Advanced Analytics

With a dedicated ESG screen in PORT, users can perform trend analysis and easily compare the sustainability metrics of portfolios, funds, and indices. Bloomberg’s solutions also include Multi-Asset Class (MAC3) fundamental risk factor models for advanced risk forecasting, including Tracking Error volatility, VAR, and scenario analysis.
